The parents' and friends' Choir of King's College School, Cambridge
![]()
In Voco Parentis was formed in 1995, by parents who continue to sing with the choir; Linda Fairbrother, Chris Lamaison and Judith Nash. IVP became a friendly and inclusive choir, attended without audition by past and present parents of the school, and their friends.
Unique from other choirs in Cambridge, choir members drop in and out depending on their personal committments, and many enjoy the social side of going to the pub after rehearsals, and informal termly meals out. There is no membership fee.
The annual programme of music has been based on a cabaret or concert of modern music, and a classical concert with orchestra. The cabaret dinner, held at the school, is performed to fund the orchestra for the classical concert.
Due to the success of the choir, new membership is now restricted to current parents of the school. Tenors and Basses may be invited to join at the gift of the music director.
